Customer Reviews

In the previous entry, we discussed the benefit of podcasting for advertising of products or services. But the beauty of podcasting is that it can be a double edged sword. It is absolutely critical for customers to have a keen sense of skepticism when being the target of an advertisement. Never blindly trust a message encouraging your to buy something if the source is the seller itself. Chances are someone else has already had experience with the product or service you intend to buy. Customer reviews are essential in determining whether you should commit your money.
Podcasting allows customers to connect with each other and have those meaningful discussions which rate the pros and cons of any product or service. One of the most popular themes in podcasting by ordinary people on YouTube and other video sharing platforms is movie reviews. My favorite podcast for an in depth review of any cinematic release is We Hate Movies. With the cost of movie tickets for major blockbusters skyrocketing, movie goers may want to first consult with a podcast dedicated to reviewing films before deciding to watch it themselves. Viewers will love the comedic reviews and unique personality and insight of each of the podcast hosts. Here is an example of a review of Suicide Squad from my favorite podcast:
In reviewing a product or service, it is essential to understand the target demographic. Different generations do not always share values and interests. Podcasting does not fundamentally change the approach to reviewing a product or service. Those who decide to review something through podcasting must first have an elemental understanding of how to review in order to gain the trust of their audience.
